Havana, MARCH 16 (RHC) – The Cuban national football team will return to the Concacaf Friendly Series, this time with changes to its schedule.

This tournament underwent modifications, so some of the teams that featured in the first window will not be participating in the second window.

However, the Cuban team will maintain its participation to take advantage of the activity offered by the March FIFA window, to face teams with outstanding performances in the region.

Thus, after the schedule adjustments, the Lions of the Caribbean will face Martinique again on the 26th and then the Dominican Republic on the 29th.

Both matches will be held at Cibao Stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, the same venue as the previous window.

The roster is notable for the return of Luis Javier Paradela, who has finally recovered from an injury that sidelined him for several months.

Furthermore, the head of the National Football Commission, Miguel Ángel Díaz, clarified to this publication that the list includes the 25 names required by Concacaf for the official roster, which must then be reduced to 23.

The general secretary of the Cuban Football Association also specified that the under-20 players, Jade Nicolás Quiñones and Eloy Nebreda, will join their respective youth teams, which will be tasked with the important job of qualifying for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. The match will be held on the 28th of this month in Santiago de Cuba.

Finally, in addition to those already mentioned, the roster is completed by goalkeepers Ismel Morgado, Yorlan Urgellés, and Yurdi Hodelin.

The defense includes Yosel Piedra, Camilo Pinillo, Karel Pérez, Orlando Calvo, Elvis Casanova, Karel Espino, Leandro Mena, and Havana’s left-back, Dayron David Reyes García, who had an excellent performance in the last national league, where they won the championship title.

In midfield, Yunior Yuri Pérez, Pedro Bravo, Romario Torres, Marcos Campos, Michael Camejo, Diego Catasus, Maikol Vega, and the star Dairon Reyes Rueda have been called up.

Up front, Jorge Aguirre, Yasnier Matos, and Alessio Raballo return, tasked, along with Paradela, with contributing goals.

Cuba won both of their first-round matches, scoring more than one goal and keeping a clean sheet: 3-0 against Saint Lucia and 2-0 against Martinique.
