Cuba warns of U.S. intention to weaken the Global South

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez warned today of the US intention to weaken the Global South and destroy Latin American and Caribbean unity.

“While praising the discredited Monroe Doctrine and its Trump Corollary, and ignoring Latin American history and the true meaning of the Global South, the US Secretary of Defense is attempting to impose a false map of collective security on Our America, where peace is to be achieved through force.”

He also accused the US of trying to weaken the region’s demand for a new democratic, inclusive, and equitable world order, where justice, cooperation, and solidarity are the foundation for sustainable development for all.
