The Cuban Foreign Ministry has expressed its gratitude for the gestures of solidarity shown to the island by social movements and Cubans residing in Belgium.
“We thank the solidarity movement, the unions, and the Cubans residing in Belgium who raised their voices to denounce the criminal blockade that has besieged our people for more than six decades,” the ministry wrote in a post on the social network X.
More than 200 people gathered on Saturday in the streets of Brussels to express their strongest rejection of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, denouncing the intensification of Washington’s aggressive policy.
The mobilization in the Belgian capital was part of a powerful European call that also resonated in cities in France and Italy, reaffirming the international commitment against US hostility and in defense of the sovereignty of the Cuban people.
