Havana, May 1 (RHC) – Palma de Mallorca is preparing today for an evening of punches and promises with Cuban and Latin American presence in fights that will set the pace of a high-voltage professional card.
Two-time Olympic champion Arlen López (6-0) will face undefeated Argentine Leonel Eduardo Ávila (12-0) in a 10-round super middleweight bout, where technique and power are expected to be the main focus.
On the same card, Saidel Horta (1-0), the 2023 Tashkent World Championship silver medalist, will take on Venezuelan Fernando José Toro (11-3) in a featherweight contest, while two-time world bronze medalist Alejandro Claro (1-0) will clash with Colombian Edinson Martínez (15-7-3) in a flyweight bout. Both fights are scheduled for eight rounds.
The card, organized by Agon Sports, will feature a total of eight professional bouts starting at 7:00 PM local time, in an evening where every bell promises to write its own story in the ring.
Beyond Mallorca, the Cuban boxing calendar also points to May 9 in Russia, where two-time Olympic champion Julio César La Cruz (4-0) will compete for the WBA super cruiserweight title against the undefeated Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (6-0), renewing a rivalry that already knows of a rematch and Olympic memory.
