Real Madrid with a Lackluster Victory in the Spanish Football League

by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, May 14 (RHC) – Real Madrid secured a lackluster 2-0 victory against Oviedo today in the final match of the 36th round of the Spanish football league, although they received some whistles from the fans.

Goals from Gonzalo García in the 44th minute and Jude Bellingham in the 80th brought a small measure of joy to Real Madrid fans, who booed French star Kylian Mbappé, the target of criticism in recent days for his selfish attitude.

Brazilian Vinicius also received some boos from the Santiago Bernabéu crowd, who were unhappy with Real Madrid’s dismal season.

Earlier, Girona drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad, temporarily climbing out of the relegation zone.

The San Sebastián side took the lead with a goal from Jon Martín in the 28th minute, but Uruguayan Cristhian Stuani equalized for the Catalan team in the 66th minute.

Girona now sits one point above the relegation zone to the Second Division, currently occupied by Mallorca with 39 points.

Valencia and Rayo Vallecano also played to a 1-1 draw, a result insufficient for both teams, who are still not guaranteed to stay in the top flight.

Rayo took the lead with a header from Florian Lejeune (20th minute), but Diego López equalized for Valencia before halftime (40th minute).
