Cuba and Portugal plan to develop political dialogue

The governments of Cuba and Portugal are working toward increasing political dialogue, according to a statement released today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean country.

The statement states that Cuban Ambassador José Ramón Saborido Loidi was received this Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic.  During the visit, Saborido Loidi met with the Director of Foreign Policy, Helena Malcata, with whom he discussed matters of bilateral interest and issues of global importance.

The “positive meeting demonstrated the possibility of continuing to develop political dialogue between the governments of both countries was discussed,” the statement emphasizes.  The diplomat also expressed “Cuba’s willingness to deepen economic, commercial, financial, and cooperation ties.”
