Members of political and mass organizations in the province of Camagüey will participate in various activities to commemorate the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

Yaimyr Victoria Basulto, head of the Ideological Department at the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, described the series of tributes, which will continue until December 4 of this year, as an opportunity to never forget the leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Among the most significant proposals, it was highlighted that on the evening of August 13th, the voices of numerous artists from the region will unite in San Juan de Dios Square, the very spot where Fidel Castro addressed the people of Camagüey on the 100th anniversary of the death in combat of Major General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.

For his part, Erich de Gótor Barrio, provincial coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, specified that members of the country’s largest mass organization will carry out a massive blood drive, inspired by Fidel Castro’s humanist and solidarity principles.

Likewise, Regla Grisel Frómeta Rivera, president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), added that the cooperative and farming sector is paying tribute to the Commander-in-Chief with donations to social institutions, exchanges with rural women, and through the operation of several soup kitchens that will begin providing food services to vulnerable people in various rural communities near the cooperatives.

However, he emphasized the importance of exceeding production targets as the best demonstration of the commitment of rural men and women to Fidel.

As an expression of the fact that this effort can break the economic, commercial, financial, and energy blockade imposed by the United States government, an agricultural, commercial, and gastronomic fair will be held in this city.
