Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, today welcomed the workshop convened by the Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP) on social media, dedicated to the legacy of Fidel Castro Ruz as the main promoter of revolutionary national science.
“I wish success to the SEAP program of activities in honor of the centennial of our Commander’s birth,” the president said in his post, highlighting the historical and scientific value of the event.
Several national media outlets recently reported that SEAP announced the Fidel Centennial program, in honor of the 100th anniversary of Fidel Castro’s birth (1926-2016), which will be celebrated next year.
The publications also emphasize that the initiative includes this specialized workshop to present progress on the Alternatives to Increase the Effectiveness of Science, Technology, and Innovation Entities project, in order to promote proposals that improve productivity, quality, and value in strategic economic sectors, as well as optimize the implementation of scientific and technological policies.
