Varadero, Jun 14 (RHC) - Cuba's Jhoen Lefont has once again broken a record in ball control in the water, this time as part of the second edition of the Hermanos Martínez Ginoris Masters Water Polo Cup, held in this city.
In the pool at 37th and First Avenue, the matancero achieved 130 consecutive touches, surpassing his previous mark of 122 touches with 15 kg of ballast attached to his body.
Lefont, who holds more than 20 records, with 11 recognized by Guinness, was followed with great expectation by fans and experts who highlighted the added difficulty of the extra weight, precision, and stability.
The record adds to an impressive list that consolidates his legacy in the sport in Cuba. His passion and dedication continue to inspire new generations, taking the art of ball control to new heights.
Also this Saturday, Havana beat Matanzas, 15-13, in a game of pure formality. This Sunday will be the discussion of the crown between these squads. Santiago de Cuba is already a bronze medalist.
