Cuba has the truth and the ability to demolish the lies of imperialism

by Ed Newman

Cuba doesn’t have to lie to defend itself; the United States cannot defend its policy without lying, Johana Tablada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) affirmed this Friday in Mexico City, as she lashed out at the economic blockade and the US government’s campaigns of falsehoods against the Revolution.

Giving a lecture at the IX Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, she alluded to the damage the imperialist siege and media war are doing to the country. She said that to counter this aggression, “we have something they will never have: the truth, and without the need for deception, we can demolish lies.”

Before the more than 500 delegates to the forum from some 30 nations, Johana Tablada thanked them for their support and asserted: “We come from a people who do not give up, who risk everything in the effort to resist and find every way to move forward, victorious once again, without renouncing its Revolution.”

“The United States has not and will not achieve its goal of subduing Cuba with its criminal measures that have placed the people and economy in a vulnerable situation with marked deficiencies, without any justification to sustain such an inhumane and mendacious aggression,” she denounced.

Johana Tablada emphasized that Cuba condemns the genocide in Gaza, as well as the maneuvers in the Caribbean, “which seek to destroy the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and turn our region into a zone of destabilization and plunder,” she warned.

She also denounced that the United States clings to a unipolar order that is primarily responsible for threats to world peace and international security.

The Continental Meeting ends Sunday. On Friday, the first full day of sessions, discussions were held concerning a number of issues, including Cuban youth as a continuation and guarantee of the Revolution and on the media war against Cuba and communication challenges.
