Cuba’s Parliament to debate crucial issues for the country in December

Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP, parliament) will debate the measures of the Government Program to correct distortions and revitalize the economy in a plenary session on December 18th.

According to the official announcement by the president of the Cuban legislature, Esteban Lazo, for the Sixth Ordinary Session of this body, in its Tenth Legislature, the objectives and goals for the economy for next year will be presented that day, along with the analysis and discussion of the draft State Budget Law for 2026.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, and the Provincial Government of People’s Power of the central province of Ciego de Ávila will also present their reports, according to the text released yesterday.

Among other topics of interest, the report on the highest level of oversight of the Ministry of Justice will be presented, as well as the analysis and discussion of draft laws.

Prior to this, on December 15, 16, and 17, meetings of the Cuban legislature’s standing committees will be held, during which more than 90 items on the national agenda, which directly impact the population, will be analyzed.

The call for the session, published on November 26 on the Cuban Parliament’s website, will be disseminated to members of parliament, central government agencies, and other relevant bodies and authorities; and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic and other media outlets for general information.
