by Ed Newman

Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, at the ceremony honoring those killed in Venezuela.

Due to its importance, Radio Havana Cuba reproduces in full the address delivered from the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cubaminrex:

“Cuba comes to pay heartfelt tribute to the Cuban combatants who, in unequal combat, confronted the imperialist enemy that was desecrating the sovereignty of the Venezuelan homeland and protecting Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros.

Honor and glory to the combatants who fell in unequal combat. Love and peace to the Venezuelan men and women murdered by the imperialist horde. To the brave Venezuelan people, we express Cuba’s deepest solidarity.

In the name of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President and First Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, loyal to the thought of Bolívar and Martí, and following the eternal memory of Chávez and Fidel in their centennial year, we pledge that we will fight together and we will win.

The Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and the Cuban Revolution, in their shared destinies and common struggle, will be examples.” For the liberation of the peoples of our America. We will continue our work in defense of peace, in international mobilization, in the campaign to defend international law and the right to life and peace of our peoples, for the liberation of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and our comrade Cilia Flores.

And we will walk together in the shared history of our peoples, knowing that the only destiny will be victory.

Hasta la victoria siempre!  Ever onward to victory!

Venceremos!   We will overcome!
