The United States and Israel launched a series of attacks on Iran on Saturday, targeting multiple locations across the country, as US President Donald Trump advocated for regime change.
Videos seen by Middle East Eye showed columns of smoke rising across Tehran with Iranian media reporting nationwide attacks, including in the western Ilam province.
Several buildings appeared to have collapsed due to the weight of the bombing, whilst Israeli aircraft could reportedly be seen in the skies above Syria.
Iranian media didn’t immediately disclose a death toll but the Reuters news agency reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been moved to a “safe place.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said the joint attacks were aimed at “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime”.
“Short time ago, US military began major combat operation in Iran. Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,” he said.
Trump also made a number of other claims and predictions without offering any concrete evidence such as Washington’s refusal to allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon.
“We are going to annihilate their navy. We are going to ensure that the region’s ‘terrorist’ proxies can no longer destabilise the region or the world”.

The statement from US Prez., Ronald Dump, “…Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,” should read “…Our objective is to promote the expansion of the Zionist entity by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,”. The “American people” are irrelevant to Dump, but he steals their tax dollars to promote worldwide Zionism. Well, the Zionist-controlled US government has indebted those poor US taxpayers to the tune of $38.7 TRILLION, an amount they can never repay. This Zionist-caused financial crisis will soon lead to economic collapse and implosion of the US Empire, and possibly a second US civil war.
