The Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Rander Peña, has rejected any hegemonic condition, prioritizing equality among states with a firm stance against the new multipolar order. He also reaffirmed his support for Cuba in the face of recent US aggression, which comes on top of more than 60 years of blockade.
The Executive Secretary highlighted the brotherhood between Cuba and Venezuela, recalling the ideals of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez as a political fusion that transcends any conjuncture or strategic calculation, and which is reflected in the founding of the Bolivarian Alliance and its 21-year history.
Peña highlighted the essentially multipolar nature of the organization, rejecting any form of domination and supporting all forms of dialogue that prevent the imposition of external agendas on the sovereignty of peoples and the development of real solutions for member nations.
The Secretary General emphasized the need for political firmness in the face of current circumstances, based on mutual recognition and national dignity, characteristics of the Bolivarian Government.
Regarding relations with the United States, the Executive Secretary pointed out that ties with the North American country are characterized by the maintenance of respectful relations, upholding a vision of harmonious coexistence and rejecting hierarchies.
Peña General reaffirmed the willingness to engage in constructive dialogue with various centers of global power under the premise of shared sovereignty.
In this regard, he reaffirmed his commitment to an international system based on equality and the self-determination of the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean.
