Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, arrived today in Vientiane, capital of Laos, for an official visit.
According to the Presidency’s X social media, the Cuban leader was received by authorities from that Southeast Asian country and students who were waiting for him at the airport, representing a people who feel great affection for Cuba.
In Laos, the third stop on his current tour of Asia, the Cuban head of state will carry out an intense work agenda that will continue his exchanges with Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
“During this, his third stop in socialist countries of East Asia, the head of state will carry out an intense work agenda that will continue his exchanges with Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.”
The Cuban president is visiting the Lao People’s Democratic Republic after completing his work schedule in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People’s Republic of China.
Accompanying the President are Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera, Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces; Emilio Lozada García, Head of the International Relations Department of the CCP Central Committee; Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; Ydael Pérez Brito, Minister of Agriculture; Mayda Mauri Pérez, president of the Biocubafarma Business Group; and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
