Radio Habana Cuba (RHC) is a voice of friendship that travels around the world with the truth about Cuba. We can be heard online in real time through our website and online broadcasts.
This Cuban shortwave station was officially founded on May 1, 1961, and its experimental broadcasts began on February 24 of that same year. Its creation was motivated by the nascent Cuban Revolution’s need for a radio station with international reach, capable of breaking the information blockade imposed by the United States and countering disinformation campaigns about the Cuban revolutionary process.
Founded more than six decades ago, RHC broadcasts in seven languages (Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Creole, Esperanto and Arabic), 24/7, Monday through Sunday, with primarily informative programming.
It features four live news magazines in Spanish and the “24 Hours Around the World” summary at the close of each day.
Currently, RHC is a multimedia station that can be heard on shortwave and reaches regions such as North America, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Western Europe and North Africa.
We also have a website that publishes content in five languages (Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Esperanto), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The station is made up of a professional, versatile team, passionate about radio, and committed to RHC’s mission, which includes correspondents across the island, as well as collaborators in different parts of the world.
