As long as imperialism exists, Cubans will fulfill their duty of internationalism, asserts Vidal Díaz García, one of the many residents of Matanzas province who condemn the imperialist attack of January 3rd in Venezuela.
The president of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC) in the municipality of Ciénaga de Zapata recognizes the valor of the compatriots who were carrying out missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior at the request of their counterparts in the South American country, and who lost their lives in combat against the attackers.
Among the fallen Cubans is the young Addriel Adrián Socarrás Tamayo. Although not originally from Ciénaga de Zapata, he served this land and raised a family in Cayo Ramona. Those who had the privilege of knowing him remember him as a responsible and steadfast young man, confirmed Oslay Díaz Pagés, mayor of the municipality of Ciénaga de Zapata.
René Ricardo Gómez, an official with the ACRC (Association of Cuban Revolutionary Soldiers) in Ciénaga, reported that upon receiving his membership card, Socarrás Tamayo inspired his comrades with his patriotism and expressed his commitment to serving the Association and his country.
Like many other citizens, the president of the ACRC in Ciénaga de Zapata believes that the people will honor the steadfastness and courage of those who fell in the line of duty. Vidal affirmed regarding Captain Socarrás Tamayo: “Ciénaga will miss him, but we will always remember him as a martyr.”
Since early Saturday morning, a statement from the Bolivarian nation denounced the grave military aggression perpetrated by the current government of the United States of America against Venezuelan territory and its population in the civilian and military areas of Caracas, the capital of the Republic, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.
The Cuban Revolutionary Government informed the people of the island that, faithful to their responsibilities for security and defense, the 32 Cubans who lost their lives honorably fulfilled their duty and fell, after fierce resistance, in direct combat against the attackers or as a result of the bombing of the installations.
