Havana, January 13 (RHC) – FC Barcelona announced today the signing of Portuguese footballer João Cancelo until the end of the season.
On loan from Al Hilal Saudi FC, the player, who will wear the number two jersey, expressed his excitement about returning to represent the Blaugrana, “the best in the world.”
In his second stint with the Catalan club, the Portuguese player arrived with the same enthusiasm and made his objectives clear: “In my first spell, I couldn’t win a title, and that’s what I want now.”
According to Barcelona’s statistics, during the 2023-2024 season, on loan from Manchester City, the player made a total of 42 appearances for the Blaugrana: 32 in La Liga and 10 in the Champions League, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
Once the loan ended on June 30, 2024, he returned to Al-Hilal SFC, his current club, where he played in 45 matches over a season and a half.
Born in the town of Barreiro, the defender boasts experience with the Portuguese team Benfica, the Italian teams Inter Milan and Juventus, the Spanish team Valencia, the English team Manchester City, and the German team Bayern Munich.
