Havana, September 28 (RHC) – Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 2-1 at the Luís Companys Olympic Stadium today to move to the top of the Spanish Football League after seven rounds.

The Catalans, under German coach Hansi Flick, achieved their sixth victory with a draw to earn 19 points, moving one ahead of their arch-rivals Real Madrid and three ahead of Villarreal.

The visitors took the lead thanks to a goal from Álvaro Odriozola in the 31st minute, thanks to an assist from Ander Barrenetxea, but before halftime, Julés Koundé capitalized on a pass from Marcus Rashford and leveled the score.

The final score came in the 59th minute through Robert Lewandowski, whose header, after an assist from the newcomer Lamine Yamal, gave the Blaugranas, the reigning champions of the league, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, the decisive advantage.

This Sunday, Sevilla defeated Rayo Vallecano 1-0, and Elche defeated Celta de Vigo 2-1. Real Betis and Osasuna will face each other later.
