The Central Bank of Cuba (BCC) supports the complaint made on national television against El Toque, the state entity affirmed today on its website.
Due to its importance, Radio Havana Cuba publishes the BCC’s statement from this Friday in its entirety.
The Central Bank of Cuba supports Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and the complaint made on national television. El Toque is part of the economic aggression against our country and is unacceptable. It lacks economic legitimacy because it operates through opaque, concentrated mechanisms that are highly vulnerable to speculation by a few economic actors who influence the exchange rate of our currency.
The so-called representative rate of the informal market cannot serve as a valid reference, as it sends distorted signals to the population and economic actors, affecting prices, expectations, and decisions.
The Central Bank of Cuba, as the monetary authority, is working to consolidate an orderly and transparent official exchange market, whose rate will gradually reflect the current state of the economy objectively. This process is part of the Government Program and is being carried out in coordination with other agencies of the Central State Administration.
