Claro matched the bronze medal he won two years ago in Tashkent and ended his participation with two wins in three outings, after defeating Hungary’s Istvan Szaka 4-1 and Türkiye’s Samet Gumus 3-2.
After this defeat, Paris 2024 king Erislandy Álvarez (65 kg) represents Cuba’s last chance to be on tomorrow’s final card, and he will face Brazilian Yuri Falcao Dos Reis in his bid to qualify.
Yesterday, two-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion Julio César La Cruz fell 2-3 to Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay, securing the bronze medal in the over 90 kg division.
