Cuba condemns U.S. closure of Venezuelan airspace

by Ed Newman

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has condemned the U.S. government’s announcement to close Venezuelan airspace.

On his social media profile, the top Cuban diplomat described the act as aggressive and emphasized that no state has authority beyond its national borders.

“It constitutes a very serious threat to International Law and an escalation of military aggression and psychological warfare against the Venezuelan people and government, with incalculable and unpredictable consequences for peace, security, and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean,” he wrote.

Cuba’s foreign minister also called on the international community and the peoples of the world to denounce this as the prelude to an illegitimate attack.
