Havana, September 15 (RHC) – Cuba swept Colombia 3-0 today and took a breather in Group D of the 2025 Men’s Volleyball World Cup in the Philippines.
After losing their debut against Portugal, the Cubans showed their pride and swept aside the Colombians with scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-20.
In their next match, Cuba will face the United States, needing a victory to secure their spot in the round of 16.
The Americans will face Portugal this Monday, in their second outing in the championship, after a comfortable debut against the Colombians, whom they thrashed 3-0.
Also today, Germany defeated Chile 3-0, Turkey defeated Libya 3-1, and Canada defeated Japan 3-0.
This world championship takes place from September 12 to 28 in the Philippines, with 32 countries from five continents participating.
