The Cuban people, led by the country’s top leadership, today once again condemned the interventionist actions of the United States government against Venezuela, in an act of solidarity in support of the Bolivarian cause.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, as well as representatives of the main mass organizations, youth leaders, members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), and the diplomatic corps accredited to the island.
A video shown at the event evoked the historic moment when Commander Hugo Chávez proclaimed his famous slogan: “Until victory always!”, reaffirming the legacy of anti-imperialist struggle that unites the peoples of Latin America. In that same spirit, Fidel Castro’s phrase was recalled: “Latin America united and together, or death. But there will be no death, there will be victory.”
As an expression of the cultural brotherhood between both nations, students from the Nicolás Guillén school gracefully and enthusiastically performed the traditional Venezuelan Joropo, while Cuban university students offered a heartfelt rendition of the poem “Our Latin American Father,” a symbol of the revolutionary spirituality of our peoples.
In times when barbarism threatens, we unite to reaffirm that Venezuela is not alone, that its struggle is our struggle, that its resistance is our pride, and that victory will be a testament to the countries that believe in truth and justice.
The Venezuelan delegation was led by Pedro Infante Aparicio, First Vice President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, who delivered a message of gratitude from President Nicolás Maduro Moros:
“I carry in my voice the eternal fire of my Commander-in-Chief, Hugo Chávez. Venezuela and Cuba are two sister nations that represent Bolívar and Martí. We are nations of peace whose governments suffer the systematic abuse of US imperialism.”
He also reaffirmed that both are nations of peace with peoples and governments that are victims of US supremacy. “From this platform, we join the call for an end to the xenophobic statements and persecution against Venezuelans and other migrants,” he added.
“We will continue promoting Latin American and Caribbean unity and integration because we are not their backyard; we are sovereign and independent republics willing to give our lives in defense of our people if necessary,” he added.
From the podium, the xenophobic campaign promoted by reactionary sectors in the United States, such as Senator Marco Rubio, who seek to stigmatize Latin Americans, especially Venezuelans, by unfairly associating them with drug trafficking, was denounced. An urgent call was made to prevent any aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In an international context marked by the hypocrisy of Western powers, Washington’s double standards were criticized, promoting wars in Ukraine while imposing false peace agreements in the Middle East to subjugate the Palestinian people. Against this backdrop, the vision of the “Great Homeland” dreamed of by Bolívar and Martí, and defended by Fidel and Chávez, was reaffirmed.
Cuba stands as a trench of morality and dignity, demonstrating that it is possible to build socialism with justice, culture, and sovereignty. More than 50,000 Havana residents gathered representing the entire Cuban people, reaffirming their commitment to the Latin American cause and revolutionary internationalism.
Cuba reaffirms its revolutionary brotherhood with Venezuela in an act of solidarity
The Cuban president presented Pedro Infante Aparicio with a representation of the books with signatures collected by Cubans in support of the Venezuelan people, totaling 4,388,759 signatures.
The meeting, which took place in front of the equestrian statue of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, located in the capital’s Vedado district, expressed the feelings of an entire nation in the face of acts that violate the right to sovereignty of its peoples.
“Today we are not only defending their right to self-determination, but also the dignity of America,” stated Roberto Morales, the secretary of organization of the Party’s Central Committee, in the keynote address.
“In every signature is the heartbeat of a people who will not give up, the signatures of Martí’s heirs. This wave of names and united wills is a vibrant demonstration of Fidel’s maxim that everything must be given for Venezuela.”
At a time when barbarism threatens world peace, Cuba unites to reaffirm that Venezuela is not alone and demonstrates, to the world, its solidarity with its people and government, for it feels their struggle and their victories as its own.
