Cuba reaffirms zero tolerance for gender-based violence

by Ed Newman

“In Cuba, there is not and will not be impunity for acts of gender-based violence,” the island’s Foreign Ministry (MINREX)reaffirmed on Sunday.

In a post on the social network X, MINREX also stated that the nation “has solid legislation to confront this phenomenon, assist direct and indirect victims, and facilitate their rehabilitation and effective reintegration into society.”

Gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the eradication of all forms of violence and discrimination are causes that the island fully defends.
