Cuba Seeks to Excel at the 2025 Parapan American Games in Chile

by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, October 13 (RHC) – Cuba will seek to improve on its performance at the upcoming VII Parapan American Youth Games in Chile 2025, official sources confirmed today.

The technical director of the Cuban Paralympic Committee, Jorge Reinaldo Palma, stated in a press conference that the main objective is to evaluate the sports reserves and improve on the eighth-place finish at Bogotá 2023.

To the competition, scheduled from October 31 to November 9, Cuba will bring 38 athletes, who will compete in only five of the 14 sports: athletics, weightlifting, judo, table tennis, and swimming.

This is a notable increase compared to the previous edition, the only one of its kind in which Cuba has participated, when it won 11 gold medals, seven silver, and three bronze.

The flag-raising of the delegation will take place tomorrow in Bogotá, and the first group of competitors is scheduled to depart on the 18th.
