Cuba Shines in Vladivostok with Gold, Silver, and Bronze in Coastal Rowing

Havana, September 6 (RHC) – Cuba won the gold medal in the mixed 4x+ category of the 2025 Vladivostok International Rowing Regatta, with a time of 3:17.67 minutes.

The Amur Bay in eastern Russia hosted the commendable performance of the Cuban team composed of Roberto Carlos Paz, Loraidis Echavarría, Eliana Márquez, Leudar Suárez, and helmsman Juan Carlos González.

Their performance was impeccable, triumphing over traditional rowing powers. This result reaffirms the technical and competitive level of the Cubans in highly rigorous international settings.

China won the silver medal with a time of 3:19.83, while Kazakhstan took the bronze, stopping the clock at 3:22.35. Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Iran completed the course with times between 3:27 and 4:03.

This open water discipline, which starts from the beach, is part of the Olympic program for Los Angeles 2028.

Cuba also earned a silver medal in the men’s individual Beach Sprint, thanks to Leduar (3:19.83).

Also in the Beach Sprint, Cuba won a bronze medal in the mixed double pair, with the duo formed by Leudar and Loraidis (3:22.35). Both demonstrated great synchronicity and power in a highly demanding event.

The 2025 Vladivostok International Regatta was held with the participation of eight countries: Cuba, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Pakistan.

The event brought together more than 60 participants in various coastal rowing and beach sprint events, establishing itself as a benchmark event on the international circuit and part of the Eastern Economic Forum’s sports program.
