Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU) reaffirms support for the Palestinian people’s struggle

The Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU) today reaffirmed its support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people and demanded their right to self-determination.

“On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we reiterate our condemnation of the extermination, ethnocide, and scorched-earth policy practiced by Israel against the Palestinian population and territory, in blatant and egregious violation of International Humanitarian Law,” the ACNU stated in its declaration.

They also emphasized that Israel’s actions make it a pariah state and that these actions are made possible by US support.

Furthermore, they denounced the repeated breaches of ceasefires, demanding that Israel facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the population in need, in accordance with the commitments made through peace agreements.

“We demand an end to Israeli military operations in the West Bank, which are causing death, destruction, and the displacement of thousands of Palestinians from refugee camps, as well as an immediate halt to the expansion of Jewish settlements and the proliferation of outposts,” the Declaration emphasized.

It also condemned collective punishment and supported the UN Committee Against Torture’s request that Israel investigate allegations of torture against the population.

The UN, its partners, and collaborators urged the recognition of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations, reiterating the urgent need for a just and lasting solution to this conflict.

“We encourage all lovers of peace and justice, and defenders of international law, to join in this declaration of solidarity and unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people.”
