Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated on Monday in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in the context of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-80) in New York.

Through the social network X, the Cuban Foreign minister reaffirmed Cuba’s willingness to continue actively collaborating with the work of CELAC, in order to promote progress in areas of regional interest that contribute to the development and well-being of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples.

CELAC, created in 2010 as a mechanism for political coordination and regional dialogue, brings together 33 Latin American and Caribbean states, with Colombia holding the pro tempore presidency in 2025. As an organization, it strengthens its role in promoting regional integration and articulating common agendas on issues such as energy transition, food self-sufficiency, migration, and the fight against climate change.

Rodríguez Parrilla is leading the Cuban delegation attending the High-Level Segment of UNGA-80, according to Cubaminrex. The top Cuban diplomat will carry out a broad work agenda that includes, in particular, participation in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
