Cuban Gutiérrez Plays a Leading Role in the Italian Volleyball Super League

Havana, December 8 (RHC) – Cuban José Miguel Gutiérrez was the star of his club Piacenza’s victory in the Italian Men’s Volleyball Super League.

Cisterna won the first set 25-21, but the rest went to the northern Italian team with scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-18.
With 19 points, four of them on serves, and an excellent 35 percent attack efficiency, the Caribbean player was his team’s second-highest scorer. His team now has a record of six wins and three losses.
In other Sunday results, Trentino swept Grottazzolina 3-0, as did Peruggia against Milano and Verona against Cuneo.
Peruggia maintained its lead in the standings with nine wins and two losses, followed by Verona (9-1) and Trentino (8-2).
