Cuban residents in Panama condemn U.S. threats against the island

The Martí Association of Cuban Residents in Panama (AMCRP) on Friday condemned the constant threats from US President Donald Trump, who has openly declared his intention to “take over Cuba.”

In a statement, the group categorized these statements as interventionist, a violation of international law, and an attack on the sovereignty and dignity of Cuba.

They also repudiated the criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade, as well as any action that seeks to break the will of the Cuban people, according to the statement.

Furthermore, the AMCRP denounced the growing US military presence in the region and the systematic threats against peace and stability.

In that context, they reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Cuban people and Cubans residing abroad, especially those living in Panama, to defend the Homeland, its independence, and its Revolution.

“We will not allow aggression of any kind to be repeated, and we are prepared to fight the necessary battle to preserve our sovereignty,” the statement added.

It also warned of the possible use of Panamanian territory as a platform for warfare in the region.

In this regard, they demanded respect for the neutrality of the isthmus and that its soil not be used to prepare any military action against Cuba or any other Latin American country.
