Cubans living abroad denounce U.S. pressure to influence UN vote

by Ed Newman

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reported through the social media platform X that protesters gathered in various cities around the world as part of the International Day Against the Blockade to demand an end to what he described as a “genocidal policy.”

The minister also emphasized that the participants reaffirmed their unconditional support for Cuba ahead of the UN General Assembly vote on October 29 on the resolution demanding an end to the blockade against Cuba.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs recently denounced the pressure exerted by the United States in preparation for the UN vote:

“We have reliable information about intimidating and deceptive pressure being exerted by the United States government on several countries, especially in Latin America and Europe,” he reported at a press conference in the capital.
