Dominican filmmaker Ronny Sosa presented his latest production — the documentary “Our Land” — a work that combines art, cultural identity, and environmental awareness.

Narrated by journalist Hony Estrella, the film makes the island the centerpiece, showcasing its biodiversity, traditions, and ecological challenges.  It includes testimonies from activist Johann Vásquez, cultural researcher Marianny Martínez, and marine biologist Rebecca García, aiming to invite reflection on ecosystem protection and sustainability.

Following the success of La Bruja (2021), the highest-grossing Dominican film of that year, and the animated short film Volará (Will Fly), which won awards at international festivals, Sosa reaffirms with this documentary his commitment to cinema with a purpose, connecting identity, society, and the future, reported Cinedominicano.

Produced by Fénix Legendario Studios, the premiere of “Nuestra Tierra” took place at the Centro León in Santiago de los Caballeros, with the attendance of figures from the cultural, artistic, and environmental fields.

“More than a documentary, ‘Nuestra Tierra’ is a call to shared responsibility, where cinema, culture, and sustainability converge in a unique experience,” Sosa said during the presentation.
