Havana, November 14 (RHC) – Cubans Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo debuted with an easy 2-0 victory over Daouda Yacoubou and Mensan Tohouegnon (Benin) at the Adelaide 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships.

In one of the matches in Group F, the Cubans dominated in straight sets, 21-11 and 21-6, with superiority in attack (24-15), blocking (3-0), and serving (4-1). They committed only one error of their own, compared to 11 by their weaker opponents.

Díaz stood out offensively with 22 points (20 from attacks and two aces), and Alayo contributed nine points (4 attacks, 3 blocks, 2 serves). For the Africans, Tohouegnon scored 11 points and Daouda five.

The second of their three matches in the preliminary group stage is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 p.m. (Cuban time), when they will face Brad Fuller and Ben O’Dea of ​​New Zealand.

The students of Francisco Álvarez Cutiño will conclude the elimination round a day later, with a match scheduled for 9:30 a.m. against the Portuguese pair Joao Pedrosa and Hugo Campos.
