Fiorentina Sacked Stefano Pioli

by Javier Perez Jimenez

Havana, November 4 (RHC) – Italian club Fiorentina announced in a statement the dismissal of their coach Stefano Pioli, who had been in charge since last July.

According to the statement, Daniele Galloppa will manage the Tuscan team “on an interim basis.” Fiorentina has yet to win a match in the Italian league this season.

Fiorentina sits at the bottom of Serie A with just four points from 10 matches, thanks to four draws and six losses—their worst start to a league campaign in their 99-year history.

Pioli is the third Italian football manager sacked this season, following Igor Tudor (Juventus) and Patrick Vieira (Genoa), all dismissed within the last nine days.

According to press reports, Fiorentina is in talks with former Empoli manager Roberto D’Aversa to officially take over the position.
