President Miguel Díaz-Canel has stated that Cuba will honor and glorify the 32 combatants who heroically fell defending Venezuela’s sovereignty against the criminal attack by the United States government.
On his social media account, the head of state reiterated that the country would receive its compatriots with profound homage, those who died confronting U.S. forces during the aggression of January 3rd.
He stressed that, with “true Cuban courage,” they managed to put the “cowardly and illegal kidnappers” of President Nicolás Maduro in check.
The remains of the 32 combatants will be received at José Martí International Airport with military and popular honors.
From the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, where they will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. on January 15, the people will pay tribute to their sacrifice.
On Friday, the 16th, a March of the Combatant People will depart from the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, followed by simultaneous ceremonies in all provinces, before their burial in the pantheons of those who fell in defense in their hometowns.
