Havana, March 28 (RHC) – The Charlotte Hornets will try today to achieve a victory against the Philadelphia 76ers to secure their place in the postseason of the American basketball league (NBA).
Anchored in the eighth seed of the Eastern Conference, the Hornets (39-34) need one more win to mathematically secure their playoff berth.
Charlotte has the longest playoff drought in the NBA, dating back to the 2015-2016 season, although they did make the unpredictable play-in tournament in 2021 and 2022.
The Hornets have won five straight games and seven of their last eight. They lead the NBA in three-pointers made per game (16.3) and are third in three-point percentage (38.2 percent).
Meanwhile, Philadelphia is coming off a historic performance. On Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls, they scored 157 points, their highest total in a single game since 1970, and became the first NBA team to reach that mark while committing only eight turnovers.
Six teams vying for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, currently ranked fifth through tenth, are separated by just two games.
This will be the final meeting between these two teams in the regular season, with each side holding a 1-0 advantage.
The other Saturday matchups feature the San Antonio Spurs vs. Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings vs. Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls vs. Memphis Grizzlies, and Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns.
