Havana, March 27 (RHC) – The Charlotte Hornets have won five straight games after dominating the New York Knicks and have secured their place in the play-in zone of the NBA’s eastern conference, whose season is entering its final stage.
The Hornets secured a 114-103 victory on Thursday, led offensively by Kon Knveppel (26 points) and LaMelo Ball (22). This win brings their record to 39 wins and 34 losses, tying them with the Orlando Magic for eighth place in the standings.
The result ended the Magic’s seven-game winning streak, leaving them in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 48-26 record.
In other games played yesterday, the Detroit Pistons, leaders of the Eastern Conference and the only team with a guaranteed playoff berth, defeated the Pelicans (129-108), and the Magic edged out the already eliminated Sacramento Kings (121-117).
Following the Pistons (53-20) are the Boston Celtics (48-24), Nicks (48-26) and Cavaliers (45-28) at the forefront of the East, while Oklahoma City (57-16), San Antonio Spurs (55-18) and Los Angeles Lakers (47-26) lead the West.
