Havana, December 10 (RHC) – After several months without competing in Cuba, Tania Indira Delgado won the girls’ poomsae title today at the 2025 Taekwondo Open Festival, which will run until December 14 at the Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva in Havana.

“I’ve trained for a return to my country like this,” she said at the end of the first day of the competition, part of the Giraldo Córdova Cardín Cup.
The silver medalist in mixed freestyle at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador now takes home the individual titles in the senior traditional and freestyle categories.
The event also welcomed young talents such as Vanesa Alba, Daniel Noa, and Karen Valle, who won gold medals in the cadet and junior categories, demonstrating the promising future of this discipline.
“The level of competition was high, and each athlete demonstrated their commitment to the development of this discipline,” said Wilmar Alvarado, president of the Costa Rican Taekwondo Federation.
This Thursday, the kyorugi (sparring) competition will take place, with approximately one hundred representatives from Cuba, Costa Rica, and Mexico participating.
