Havana, October 5 (RHC) – The regular season of the Japanese Baseball League closed today with wins by the Orix Buffaloes and the SoftBank Hawks, ahead of the postseason.
Both games were meaningless, as both teams had already secured their spots: SoftBank leads the Pacific League with 87 wins and 52 losses, and Orix is third, with 74 and 66.
The latter will have to play the so-called Climax Series against the Nippon Ham Fighters starting on the 11th, with a maximum of three games.
The winner will then face the Falcons for the League title starting on October 15th in a best-of-seven duel.
Meanwhile, in the Central League, the Hanshin Tigers await the winner of the Bay Stars vs. Yomiuri Giants matchup, which also kicks off next Saturday.
