The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized this Wednesday, through his television program “Con el Mazo Dando,” the strength and unity of the Bolivarian Revolution in the face of external aggression.
In a context marked by the recent US bombing of Venezuela on January 3, Cabello emphasized that the leaders, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the police forces, and the Venezuelan people remain united like “a solid rock” demanding the release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
“We are united as a single bloc; the Bolivarian Revolution is a solid rock, it is our People, our Armed Forces, our police forces,” he affirmed, reiterating that this unity has been demonstrated “time and time again.”
Cabello also highlighted the support for Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, in what he described as the difficult task of leading the country amidst the aggressions fueled by the hunger of US imperialism.
The Bolivarian leader denounced the attitude of those who celebrated the bombing of Venezuela, calling it shameful and assuring that they will be defeated by the rebellious conscience of the Venezuelan people.
“Our people are wise, from their pain, their anger, their sadness, but from their rebellious origins. And these people have found a reason to unite,” he expressed, emphasizing that even opposition sectors could end up united against those who promoted the aggression.
Releases Thanks to the Bolivarian Government
As Minister of the Interior and Justice of Venezuela, he also addressed the issue of recent releases, noting that more than 400 people have been freed in a process that seeks peace and tranquility in the country.
Cabello clarified that these measures do not include those who have been tried for serious crimes such as homicide, drug trafficking, or pedophilia, and stressed that those released are not “political prisoners,” but rather individuals who participated in destabilizing actions.
“Today, those giving them this opportunity in life are not the ones who got them into that mess, it’s the Bolivarian Government. It’s the State institutions that are functioning,” he emphasized. Cabello recalled violent episodes promoted by extremist sectors, such as the burning of a human being, the failed invasion of February 23, Operation Gideon on May 2, and the attempted coup d’état of April 30.
He also denounced the manipulation by some NGOs, such as Provea, which are trying to take credit for the releases in order to profit from the families of the detainees. “All these decisions were made unilaterally. The Catholic Church has nothing to do with it, nor does a single NGO,” he stressed.
The False Imperial Narrative and the Defense of Peace
Cabello rejected the international campaigns that seek to portray Venezuela as a “narco-democracy” or a “repressive and illegitimate state.” According to the minister, these narratives have been disproven by reality, as it has become clear that the United States’ true objective was to seize Venezuelan oil and resources.
“Today, the world knows what happened here in Venezuela and why there was such a campaign against our people,” he declared.
In this context, he highlighted President Nicolás Maduro as a man of peace and dialogue.
“President Nicolás Maduro is and will be a man of peace,” affirmed the leader of the Venezuelan ruling party, emphasizing the dignity and courage shown by the president and First Lady Cilia Flores on international stages.
Cabello insisted that, despite the opposition’s attempts to stage “shows,” the government’s position has always been to promote dialogue and reconciliation.
Finally, he recalled Commander Hugo Chávez’s warnings about the dangers of U.S. imperialism and its attempts to invade Venezuela to seize its resources.
“Commander Chávez always warned us because he was able to see the future and point out where things were headed,” he recalled, emphasizing that the Bolivarian leader’s predictions have come true.
With these statements, Cabello reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Revolution remains firm, united and aware in the face of external aggression, while advancing in processes of reconciliation, defense of national sovereignty and the liberation of President Nicolás Maduro.
