Havana, December 19 (RHC) – América Móvil, a leading telecommunications company in Latin America, has secured a new long-term agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to acquire the rights to several events.
A statement from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), sent today to Prensa Latina in Madrid, highlighted the agreement reached that grants media rights to América Móvil and its subsidiary AMX Contenido AMCO for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina and the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
It also covers the 2030 Winter Games in the French Alps and the 2032 Summer Olympic Games in Brisbane.
In addition, it includes the Youth Olympic Games during the same period in the following countries: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Under the agreement, AMX secures exclusivity for Pay-TV and Pay-Digital rights in the designated territories.
IOC President Kirsty Coventry stated that initial contact with AMX was established in 2014, and she is now very pleased to extend the cooperation to broaden Olympic coverage in the region.
For his part, Arturo Elías Ayub, CEO of América Móvil Contenido, emphasized his company’s commitment to continuing its partnership with the IOC to jointly promote innovative experiences that empower athletes and excite their fans.
