Havana, April 6 (RHC) – Napoli defeated AC Milan one goal to zero today in the 31st round of the Italian first division (Serie A).
Antonio Conte’s men took the lead thanks to a lone goal from Italian winger Matteo Politano in the 79th minute of the second half.
With the victory, Gli Azzurri climbed to second place in the standings with 65 points, two more than their rivals, who sit in third place in Serie A with 63 points.
In other matches of the day, Juventus defeated Genoa with goals from Weston McKennie and Gleison Bremer, while Atalanta thrashed Lecce 3-0, leaving them in the relegation zone with 27 points.
Inter Milan leads the Italian league with 72 points and will face Como, managed by Spaniard Cesc Fàbregas, who are currently fourth in the standings, in the next round of matches.
