Havana, November 6 (RHC) – Panama will once again participate in a Caribbean Series baseball tournament after accepting the invitation from the organizing committee of the Gran Caracas 2026 Caribbean event, it was revealed today.

According to a statement from the Panamanian Professional Baseball League (Probeis), the president of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, Giuseppe Palmisano, highlighted the contributions and achievements Panama has made throughout its rich history in the sport.

“Panama baseball is undoubtedly a fundamental part of the history of this discipline in the region, and having them participate further enhances an event like this,” the statement reads.

It also notes that it would be an honor to have them present at this prestigious tournament, which will reach its 68th edition, a tournament steeped in history, where Panama has left an indelible mark and produced baseball legends.

For Probeis, this would be their seventh participation in the Caribbean Series since returning in 2019, when Panama hosted and won the tournament with the Toros de Herrera.

Panama’s last participation was in 2024, at Miami Marlins Stadium, where they finished third with the Federales de Chiriquí, managed by José Mayorga.

Panama will be represented in the 2026 Caribbean Series by the champion of the Probeis League, which is scheduled to begin in December.

The 2026 Caribbean Series Gran Caracas will feature the champion teams from the winter leagues of the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba, and Panama.
