Traveling exhibition pays tribute to the victims of Gaza

The Her Car Art Gallery (Calzada de 10 de Octubre corner of Porvenir, Arroyo Naranjo) will host the traveling exhibition “Gaza,” a poignant and necessary tribute on Human Rights Day.

According to the National Council of Visual Arts (CNAP), the exhibition was curated jointly by Palestinian artist Fadi About Hassan and National Humor Prize winner Arístides Hernández (Ares).

The CNAP adds that the exhibition stems from a call for submissions issued by the aforementioned artists during the 24th edition of the San Antonio de los Baños Graphic Humor Biennial, which quickly garnered responses from over 50 visual artists from 30 countries.

Following its initial presentation at Galería 23 y 12, “Gaza” arrives at Her Car in a smaller version, featuring works by 27 artists from different countries. This diverse range of aesthetics and styles lends the exhibition a powerful expression of solidarity with Palestine.

Each work in the exhibition, the CNAP maintains, validates the fact that graphic humor can, and should, address tragedy and violence; denounce genocide and media manipulation; and reaffirm the role of art as a powerful tool for keeping awareness alive, challenging impunity, and upholding the right to life.
