On Wednesday, Interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez called for national unity for the future of Venezuela, a monolithic unity to give continuity to the Revolution through the Plan de la Patria (Homeland Plan) and the 7Ts (7 Transformations). This call includes all sectors of the country to unite against extremism and for peace in Venezuela.

From Miraflores Palace, during the notification to the Executive Branch of the start of the 2026-2031 legislative period, Delcy Rodríguez affirmed that “this nation has a clear understanding of what freedom is, and that understanding must compel us to work in national unity so that Venezuela, in this complex and perilous moment, can move toward a future of development, peace, tranquility, and sovereignty to guarantee the future for our generations to come.”

Delcy Rodriguez added that “the blockade has not defeated us.   The Venezuela we are dreaming of and striving for is one of development and life.”  She also indicated that “today we begin a new political era for the defense of sovereignty and independence.”

Rodríguez outlined three fundamental directives: the rescue of the Head of State and his wife, the guarantee of peace throughout the Republic, and the maintenance of political governability in the face of current challenges.

The activity aimed to set goals in defense of peace and national sovereignty, in a context marked by the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores by U.S. military personnel.

In this regard, she reaffirmed that “Venezuela is not at war.”   “Extremist and fascist expressions that threaten the peace of the nation cannot be allowed,” she stated.

During the meeting, recognition was given to the Venezuelan women who marched through the streets of Caracas in full support of First Lady Cilia Flores, “for their courage and heroism.”
