Venezuela’s National Guard (FANB) categorically rejects the disinformation campaign about a supposed military helicopter to fabricate incidents and justify an escalation of aggression against Venezuela.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of People’s Power for Defense, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) categorically rejected the information disseminated on social media about the presence of a US helicopter near the Venezuelan island territory, describing it as part of a “perverse campaign” promoted by far-right sectors.

Commander of the Army Vladimir Padrino López denounced this disinformation as seeking to “provoke and fabricate an incident or false positive” to justify an escalation of military aggression against Venezuela, following the historical pattern of US imperialism.

The Ministry of People’s Power for Defense described these actions as “fake news” that are part of the psychological operations contemplated in the traditional US war script.  According to the official statement, Washington intends to create “fictitious scenarios as a pretext for armed interventions.”

The strategy seeks to generate an excuse under the narrative of the “fight against drug trafficking,” when in reality it seeks a forced change of government that would drag the region into a conflict with unpredictable consequences.

In the statement issued, the Venezuelan Defense Ministry compared these tactics to historical episodes such as the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964, where the United States fabricated a pretext to justify its participation in the Vietnam War by claiming nonexistent attacks against its ships.

The FANB reaffirmed its “irredictable determination” to defend territorial integrity with “firmness and serenity,” maintaining a perfect civil-military-police fusion to guarantee national freedom, sovereignty, and independence.

Venezuelan military authorities held US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mauricio Claver-Carone directly responsible for orchestrating these warmongering actions aimed at generating destabilization and anxiety among the population.

Venezuela’s constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, had previously ordered the military high command to maintain maximum alert against possible US provocations, amid the ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two countries.

Venezuela has consistently denounced the international pressure and economic sanctions imposed by the United States as mechanisms of political coercion. The Venezuelan military maintains its defensive doctrine based on asymmetric warfare and popular resistance, designed to deter any attempt at external aggression against the national territory.
