With the goal of ensuring ever-increasing combat readiness, the people of Villa Clara and their authorities on Saturday conducted drills in response to potential attacks at various strategic and economic points in the province, as part of Territorial Defense Day.
Lieutenant Colonel Yordanys Cervantes Lozada, Chief of Staff of the Santa Clara Military Sector, explained to journalists present that preparation, protection and firefighting actions were carried out in that municipality in response to possible damage caused by enemy attacks.
At the Villa Clara Operational Region (RMVC) Studies Center, members of the Municipal Defense Councils of Sagua la Grande and Cifuentes, presidents of the Zone Defense Councils, and representatives of the senior staffs of the Territorial Troop Militia and the Permanent Infantry Battalion participated in a combined training exercise focused on infantry and artillery marksmanship, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, and communications equipment, stated Colonel Jorge Alberto Díaz Domínguez, head of Combat Readiness.
First Colonel Eduardo Arboláez Vázquez, head of the RMVC Anti-Aircraft Defense Brigade, explained that the officers, sergeants, and soldiers prepared combat units to develop enhanced skills and habits, as part of an efficient response to a potential enemy air attack.

At a meeting at the headquarters of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Santa Clara, the president of the Provincial Defense Council, Susely Morfa González, commented that the preparations are also focused on the political and ideological aspects of combating the media cyberwarfare to which the country is subjected, as well as rectifying, correcting, and strengthening the responses of managers and workers in their workplaces to properly carry out the War of the Entire People.
Díaz Domínguez, speaking exclusively to the Cuban News Agency, considered it important to prepare the entire population beyond the days designated for the exercises.
And he emphasized that such preparedness and military exercises are taking place across the island.
