A recent report by the Global Network Against Food Crises revealed that 295 million people in 53 countries suffered from hunger last year, a problem that has been growing relentlessly in recent times.

This is a new low for our species, particularly as most cases occurred as a result of armed conflicts in various parts of the world, especially in Sudan, Burma, and the Gaza Strip.

According to the institution formed by the European Union, the World Bank and several UN agencies, everything indicates that 2025 will be even worse due to the multiplication of clashes, as well as a marked decrease in international aid.

Of those with severe nutritional deficiencies, at least 22.6% are on the brink of famine, a situation unseen since the report began in 2016.

The report states that the extreme situation can be seen in Sudan and Gaza, and to a lesser extent in Mali and Haiti.

These cases have one thing in common: the civilian population is subjected to imposed warfare. In Gaza, for example, the Zionist State of Israel not only carries out constant and massive attacks, but also prevents access to humanitarian aid.

He also revoked humanitarian parole for Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Haitians, leaving hundreds of thousands of people in a disturbing migratory limbo and at risk of expulsion.

Cubans are certain that the pretexts for so many abuses are ridiculous and that the restrictions are not in their best interests.

Many Palestinian children, elderly people and those who are sick have died of starvation, and there has been little reaction from the world or international organisations against Tel Aviv's genocidal behaviour. The Israeli government is carrying out an ethnic cleansing operation with the complicit silence of some parts of the world.

Furthermore, Western powers such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany have maintained an indifferent attitude, failing to reduce their military cooperation with Benjamin Netanyahu's regime.

This contrasts with other information released recently, including Washington's intention to invest one trillion dollars in modernising its nuclear arsenal over the next ten years.

In the United States, one trillion dollars is equivalent to one billion dollars, and only a fraction of this sum could alleviate the suffering of those at risk of dying from malnutrition.

This is further proof that, in addition to humanity's senselessness, there is an extraordinary level of insensitivity among those who boast of being the superior species on our planet.
