Havana, May 20 (JIT) - On Tuesday, Cuban pitcher Liván Moinelo scored his fifth victory of the season in the 5x2 victory of the SoftBank Hawks over the Nippon Ham Fighters in the Japanese Professional Baseball League 2025.
Visiting Es Con Field, in Hokkaido, and in front of 27,012 spectators, the fast left-hander allowed only two runs in his seven innings of action. He also struck out three and gave up four tickets.
Moinelo, who earned his third victory in three consecutive starts, improved his record to 5-0 and increased his effectiveness to 1.69 WHIP, a figure that reaffirms him as the third best in that category in the Pacific League.
Ahead of him are Tatsuya Imai and Chiro Sumida, both of the Seibu Lions.
So far, Moinelo has 53.1 innings of work, with 10 clean runs and 36 hits allowed, 50 strikeouts and 13 walks.
